The Green Lung

Bangkok’s Green Lung, officially called Bang KraChao, is located to the Southeast of Bangkok. It is an area of undeveloped beauty in stark comparison to the nearby metropolis of Bangkok. It is a popular spot for tourists and locals who want to relax in the fresh air provided by lush greenery in an oasis of land which is largely untouched by modern development.

Getting to the Green Lung is easy. If you decide not to drive there, it’s just a short boat journey across the Chao Praya river. There is a pier near Wat Klong Toey Nok where you can hop on a longtail boat for 10 baht to take you there. Wat Klong Toey Nok is also a temple worth visiting.
